Engaged with culture,
inspired by the arts, sustained by faith, Grenbelt aspires
to be an open generous community re-imagining the Christian
narrative for the present moment. Its mission is to create
spaces, like festivals, where art, faith and justice
collide. Where artistry and activism, spirituality and
politics, faith and justice are held together.
Greenbelt is a festival of
arts, faith and justice. The best you’ve never heard of.
Greenbelt saw its first edition way back in 1974 and
has hosted its annual festival every single year since. But
thinking of Greenbelt as just another ‘festival’ doesn’t do
it justice. It is also an idea, a way of seeing, a gathering
of the clans – part movement, part moment. Its genius is
that it defies easy description. You have to be there.
GIRES: Gender Identity
Research and Education Society
GIRES' purpose is to
improve the lives of trans and gender non-conforming people,
including those who are non-binary and non-gender.
GIRES is a
volunteer operated membership charity that, in collaboration
with the other groups in its field, hears, helps, empowers
and gives a voice to trans and gender non-conforming
individuals, including those who are non-binary and
non-gender, as well as their families.
GIRES uses evidence
from these individuals' lived experiences, combined with
scientific research into gender identity development, to
educate all those who are able to improve their wellbeing.
We contribute to policy development regarding equality and
human rights for these individuals, especially in
GIRES also delivers
training, e-learning and information to public and private
